Early Life and Career

Jacob Paul Tapper was born on March 12, 1969, in New York City. He graduated from Dartmouth College and worked as a reporter for several publications before joining CNN in 2013.

CNN Career

As CNN's lead Washington anchor, Tapper hosts the weekday show "The Lead with Jake Tapper." He has covered major political events, including the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections and the COVID-19 pandemic. Tapper's sharp questioning and insightful commentary have made him a respected voice in journalism.

Author and Cartoonist

In addition to his journalism career, Tapper is also an accomplished author and cartoonist. He has written two New York Times bestselling novels, "The Hellfire Club" and "The Devil May Dance," as well as the bestselling nonfiction book "The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor."
